Site for reviewing museums and art
I’ve been finding out about social network applications, thinking how they could be used for the cultural sector (e.g. in museums e-learning). I like to learn by doing so I tried out the Apps on Ning and set up a site that allows me and other people to post reviews of museums, art and exhibitions, including their websites and education programmes. It’s at http://reviewexhibitions.ning.com/
I might get addicted to this – I have ideas for a few more Apps.
Elearnspace
I’ve been discovering the world of edublogging today.
Here’s a good one, for example, from George Siemens. http://www.elearnspace.org/blog/
I agree with his views about learning through dialogue. He’s also presented at conferences about museums and e-learning. His blog also has a lot of good links to new applications like Google Calendar (just launched), Writely (just acquired by Google) and, especially interesting, ELGG, http://elgg.net/ an e-learning environment based on social networking sites, much more learner-centred than Virtual Learning Environments .
